Happy Thursday, Friends!
This week month has gone by far too quickly. It just dawned on me that my wedding is quickly approaching!
....and with a nearing wedding means a NEARING HONEYMOOOOOOOOON!
Aaron and I will be island hopping in the Greek Islands.
Pinch me.
I've been trying to find the perfect travel purse/bag as none of my current purses are conducive to walking all day/airports/ferries.

I was hoping to use my bloggy as a forum to reach out to my bloggy friends and see if you have any recommendations on crossbody bags (or any other suggestions). I'm not a brand person by any means, and after researching several bags I'm learning that the brand can make a huge difference.
My Preferences
Wide-ish strap (not the thin round straps)
Medium size - Can carry camera, phone, wallet, and then some...
Not fancy designer (ie: no target sign on my forehead)
Cross body style
So with that being said - can anyone recommend a crossbody bag?!
Every time I think I've found the one, I check the $150+ price tag and remind myself that I must have stellar taste.
I suggest looking somewhere with relatively inexpensive items. When I studied abroad in Italy, I used a cross-body bag from Charlotte Russe. Being in the hot sun all day can do a little bit of wear and tear to your bag, so it's best to get something inexpensive.
ReplyDeleteCheck out Vera Bradley! They are sometimes a little pricey, but I think what you're looking for would be under $100. I love their bags, they last, are durable, comfortable, and you can throw them in the wash when you get home to get all that traveling gunk off of them:)
ReplyDeleteI agree with the Vera suggestion! I own a ton of those bags in all different styles.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely cross-body style. That is my favorite type of bag/purse when traveling. I love the one you pictured but have you checked out 31. Their bags are affordable and trendy.
ReplyDeleteIf you're gonna be traveling abroad, I would definitely go with something inexpensive. One, you don't want to lose it or have it stolen. Two, you don't want everyone to think you have your own money tree and will pay whatever ridiculous price is thrown at you (this comes in handy when haggling in markets) and three, you don't want unnecessary wear and tear on your brand new $150 purse! So go for something affordable and comfortable. And with pockets, for easy and useful organization. I can't tell you how many times I had to dig around for my passport, money, keys. Get something big enough to carry the essentials, but small enough so that you're not loaded down like a pack mule!
ReplyDeleteI bought a Jessica Simpson brand crossbody purse on eBay a while back and it is my go-to travel purse. I love it because the strap is about an inch and a half wide, it's brown and really cute with several little pockets on the outside and a couple in the inside as well. It zips shut. Maybe look into her bags online.
ReplyDeleteCross body style purse is great when traveling! I shop mostly target/kohls for inexpensive purses
ReplyDeleteI have no suggestions on a purse, but I am so jealous that you're heading to the Greek Islands. Can I jump in your suitcase?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite inexpensive cross body is from TJMaxx, you may have to search but they always have a good selection. If you can't find a cross body I would look into a cute backpack, that is what I want for a travel bag!
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
Hope this helps!

I lOVE Fossil brand bags!!!
ReplyDeleteI have never shopped for a purse, but I have friends who make their own bags. :)
ReplyDeleteI suggest looking at TJ Maxx? I found a crossbody purse there for only $20, and they are always having good deals too!
ReplyDeleteI agree with some of the above, something that you doesn't draw attention as being expensive. Fossil or TJmaxx are great options!
ReplyDeleteHave you checked the new coach outlet in Troutdale?? I bought a honeymoon bag there last year and it was and is fab! It's not cross body or I'd let you take it!!!
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you design your own according to the features you need in a travel purse/bag and find someone to make it for you? That's what I did and I couldn't be happier with the results:
